FME - Miner's Equipment
Joe Hatfield's dinner bucket. They were all similar and were purchased at the Commissary in Rim Camp. The bottom was for water and the large pan fit over that and usually held potatoes, beans, meat, etc. and then the smaller one was fitted over that and held cornbread, biscuit and/or something sweet...Whoever mentioned sandwiches in the many newspaper articles written at the time had no idea what would happen to food which was not in airtight containers. Besides that, no one could afford "lite Bread" and even the children who took lunches to school had biscuit sandwiches.
